POSITION SUMMARY:
- Assist in maintaining a safe and secure learning environment to promote student achievement
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
- Other qualifications as the campus principal may find acceptable
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Ability to work in sensitive and time-critical circumstances to meet established deadlines
- Ability to work and collaborate with a wide range of people
- Effective verbal communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and follow instructions
- Highly organized
- Ability to work flexible hours when necessary
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perimeter access control and patrol of campus
- Observe and report damages to the campus
- Verify doors are secure throughout the day
- Assist campus personnel with issues regarding safety, security, and supervision/monitoring of persons and/or places
- Assist with emergency drills at the school and campus ancillary facilities
- Provide support for emergency management and preparedness
- Issue parking warning violations and/or citations
- Patrol athletic facilities
- Assist with the arrival/dismissal of staff and students
- Process security-related documents
- Assist with video surveillance camera operations
- Use positive, effective interpersonal communication skills
- Adhere to high standards of punctuality, regular attendance, and appropriate dress including appropriate uniform
